TOP TEN THINGS TO DO IN LUXEMBOURG

1. Join a walking tour to discover the hidden gems of the city. The tour begins at 11:00 AM at the Plaza de la Constitución, which is located very close to the city centre. Meet up with your tour guide in the Kadish Monument.
2. Tired of walking? Explore the historical sights of the city, book a ride with Pétrusse Express Train and hop on hop off as you wish.
3. Visit the Le Chemin de la Corniche, one of the most beautiful balconies in Europe.
4. Walk around the main sights of the city. View the Plaza de la Constitución, learn about the history of the city, the Plaza de las Armas, the Luxembourg City Hall.
5. Visit the Notre Dame, the only cathedral in the city, originally a Jesuit church.
6. Visit the Grand Ducal Palace, the official residence of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. Guided Tours are organised from July until the end of August.
7. Walk around Grund neighbourhood, a historic district in the centre of the city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in the banks of the Alzette River.
8. Take a photograph of Saint Michael’s Church, a Roman Catholic church, located in the Fishmarket.
9. Walk around the Monument of Remembrance, a famous historical monument, known as the Golden Lady, commemorating thousands of Luxembourgers who volunteered during the World War.
10. Explore the Bock Casemates, a huge complex of underground cellars and tunnels, begun in 1644, operated as a bomb shelter during the Second World War.

The Museums to Visit

• Visit the National Museum of History and Art located in the Ville Haut. The Museum displays the art history of the city. The entrance is free apart from the temporary exhibitions that cost 7€ for adults. Explore the lovely coffee shop situated on the ground floor.
• The Bank Museum is a small museum located in Luxembourg’s State and Savings Bank’s Head Office (Banque et Caisse d’Epargne de l’Etat). You will explore this tiny museum and discover a wide selection of coins, paper notes, traditional typewriters.
• If you are an enthusiast of the old public transport then visit the Tram and Bus Museum. The museum exhibits a wide collection of vintage trams and souvenirs of the city’s public transportations since 1960.

How to travel to the city from Luxembourg Airport

Get to town from Findel Airport by taking the bus No 16. You don’t have to pay a ticket, public transport in Luxembourg is free of charge since March 2020.
